This Sergeant Major is equipped with a southern-made copy of the US cavalry sabre and a copy of the Enfield carbine made by the company Cook and Brother. He is wearing a slouch hat, which was common amongst Confederate cavalry, an Alabama issue belt plate and a short grey jacket which were preferred by mounted officers to regulation frock coats.
This highly detailed Sergeant Major Cavalry 1862 figure is made from solid antiqued lead-free pewter. The figure, stands approximately 5.5cm tall and is supplied in an acetate box with historical notes.
