Kepis are the French inspired caps often worn by men and officers on both sides. Many Southern troops wore Kepis to war but these were gradually replaced by slouch hats, which became the fashion. As war progressed, many styles, shapes amd makes of hats appeared on both sides as they were taken from the enemy. Our model hat is a copy of a Braided Officer's Kepi trimmed with braid in the crown and sides.
This Braided Officers Kepi Hat is made from lead-free pewter and is supplied on a quality key-chain. It is supplied in a clear bag with an information card. |
