Northern field artillery consisted mainly of smoothbore Napoleons and the Parrott cast iron 10 pounder cannons, both of which were muzzle loaders. As the conflict progressed the Parrott became the standard Union field piece with a range of about 2 miles. Our model is based on the 24 pounder siege Howitzer which the North used for siege artillery and the defence of permanent fortifications.
This cannon measures 10cm and is made from metal with plastic wheels. There is a pencil sharpener under the barrel. |
