Most early jewellery was made from lead alloys and bronze and only the wealthy could afford such pieces made from gold and silver. This ring is reproduced from an original 15th century gold posy ring on display in the National Museum of Wales. The ring was found near Ewenni Priory, Glamorgan and is engraved with '+ ieme la belle' (love is beautiful).
This Clasped Hand Ring is made from 22ct gold plated lead-free pewter and is supplied in a clear plastic blister. The information card is full colour on the front and has historical information on the reverse.
