Elizabeth I was Queen of England from November 1558 until her death in 1603. She was the daughter of Henry VIII and was the fifth and final monarch of the House of Tudor. She reigned for almost 45 years during a period marked by increases in English power and influence worldwide, as well as great religious toumoil within England.
