The British War Medal was a campaign medal issued to British and Imperial forces for service in World War I between 1914-20. Some 6,500,000 medals were awarded in silver to the Army, Navy and Air Force.

Many recipients of this medal also received the 1914 / 15 Star and Victory Medal.
