Harold
II was the last Anglo-Saxon King of England. When Edward the Confessor died,
the English nobles chose Harold as King. When Harold accepted, William of
Normandy invaded England to fight for the throne. Harold was defeated and
killed at the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The coin is 19mm in diameter and is manufactured in traditional
lead-free pewter.
The
card has a colour image of the Battle of Hastings on the front and historical information on the back.
