The
Hurricane was powered by a 12 cylinder 1,030-hp Rolls Royce Merlin engine
and had a top speed of 324 mph. It was armed with 8 x .303 Browning machine
guns mounted in the wings. The Hawker Hurricane came to be regarded as one
of the most rugged and reliable fighters in RAF service. The plane is 87mm
wide and is manufactured in traditional pewter.
The
cardboard box has black and white images of Battle of Britain planes
'in action' with a clear PVC panel on the front and historical information on the back.
