The fish was an early Christian symbol, and
still enjoys widespread use among Christians today. Persecuted Christians in
Roman times originally used the sign of the fish to identify one another.
The Greek word for fish, ichthus, is made up of the initial letters in the
phrase 'Jesus Christ, God's Son, Saviour'. In the bible the fish symbolizes
God's abundant provision. The pendant is 38mm wide and is manufactured in traditional
lead-free pewter. The pendant is supplied on a wax cord.
The
card has a colour image of a stained glass window of Jesus on the front and historical information on the back.
