the time Victoria came to the throne in 1837 the whole mood of jewellery had
changed. Many styles were never out of fashion for long; others were crazy
and tasteless but these did not last the season. Jewellers began looking to
the past for inspiration. Fashions in jewellery became much more sensitive
to world events, books, the theatre, archaeological discoveries and military
campaigns. The pendant is 38mm X 28mm and is manufactured in
traditional lead-free pewter and gold plated. Supplied with a gold plated
chain.
The
card is colour depicting a Victorian embroidered panel on the front and historical
information on the back.
