Finger
rings were widely worn by men and women in Roman times. These were generally
made from gold, silver or bronze. Gem stones were used to adorn necklaces,
ear-rings and were especially popular in rings. Gold rings were a badge of
rank for equestrians and rings with carved stones were used to seal
documents. The ring is 15mm diameter, expandable and is manufactured in traditional
lead-free pewter. It is supplied with either a red, green or
blue stone.
The
card has a colour image depicting a mosaic of Cupid on a dolphin on the front and historical information on the back.
