The snake ring design was very
popular with the Romans during the first century AD. Jewellery was made from
a range of metals including gold, silver, copper alloys and iron although
many of the finer gold and silver items would have been imported. The ring is
17mm diameter, expandable and is manufactured in traditional
lead-free pewter and gold plated.
The
card has a colour image depicting a Roman Mosaic from Bignor Roman Villa on the front and historical information on the back.
