This crocodile represents Sobek who symbolised the might of the Egyptian pharaohs. Son of Neith he is depicted as a crocodile crowned with a combination of the solar disk and the uraeus (cobra). Sobek was a god of the Nile (which was believed to have come from his sweat) who gave life to vegetation and fertility to the land.
This
crocodile figure is made of reconstituted stone and measures 11.5cm long.
