Hieroglyphs
were signs devised c.3000 B.C. and were used for formal inscriptions in
ancient Egypt. The were called by the Egyptians 'the words of God' and were
used mainly by priests. Hieroglyphs are written in rows or columns and can
be read from left to right or right to left. This ruler has the Egyptian
alphabet on one side and an Egyptian timeline on the other that covers the
foundation of the Egyptian state through to the discovery of the Rosetta
Stone and its translation.
This
12" (30cm) double-sided plastic ruler is supplied with a full colour
insert and has measurements in both centimetres and inches.
