In Tudor
times the most common types of jewellery were rings, brooches, bracelets,
necklace and earrings. Precious stones were also very fashionable. They
included rubies, emeralds, pearls and sapphires. These stones were set in
heavy pendants, rings and on chains worn around the neck. The pendant is
36mm diameter and is manufactured in traditional
lead-free pewter and gold plated. The pendant is supplied with either a red
or blue stone. Supplied on a gold plated chain.
The
card has a colour image depicting a painting of Henry VIII by Hans Holbein
(c. 1497-1543) on the front and historical information on the back.
