The
Myth of the hare-in-the-moon is almost universal and goes back to ancient
times. The hare is always an attribute of lunar deities and can symbolize
fertility. The hare was important to early Britons; Boadicea would release a
hare at the beginning of each new campaign against the Romans. Our 3.2cm
tall moon-gazing hare is of Chinese origin, gazing at what he see's as his
ancient ancestor the moon. The mini bronze is made of a base white metal and
bronze plated.
The
mini bronze is supplied in a clear acetate box with an insert supplying historical information.
