This
5.5cm tall figure is of William the Conqueror, Son
of the Duke of Normandy, who was born around 1027. He proved himself a
brilliant leader at the battle of Val es Dunes in 1047, but is best
remembered for the Battle of Hastings in 1066 as depicted in the Bayeaux
Tapestry. This figure is made of lead free pewter.
The box design
shows a number of historical artefacts including swords, spears and a number
of heraldry designs. Historical information is supplied.
