The sea
reptiles evolved from land reptiles that adapted to life in water. All the
sea reptiles breathed air and would surface regularly to fill their lungs. Only the Ichthyosaurus gave birth to live
young at sea. The Ichthyosaurus was similar in shape to modern
dolphins and measured about 2m in length. It fed on fish, shellfish and
smaller sea reptiles. The pendant is 43mm long and is manufactured in traditional
lead-free pewter. Supplied with wax cord.
The
card has a colour image depicting a Ichthyosaurus fossil on the front and historical information on the back.
