Saxon Coin Pendant - Alfred

Alfred the Great was king of the West Saxons in England. Alfred became king in 871. After losing the battles against the Danes, Alfred finally defeated them at the battle of Edington in 878. Alfred won his greatest victory, the conquest of London in 886. The coin is 19mm in diameter and is manufactured in traditional lead-free pewter. Supplied on a silver coloured chain.

 

The card has a colour image from the Bayeux tapestry on the front and historical information on the back.
