The
black flag with skull-and-crossbones has been the favourite image of the
pirate flag. Commonly known as the 'Jolly Roger' the flag often displayed
death or scary images like skulls, bones, swords / daggers and hourglasses.
While bones and weapon images were signs of death, the hourglasses were used
to denote that time was running out for the pirate's enemy to surrender. The
ring is 17mm diameter, expandable and is manufactured in traditional
lead-free pewter that is gold plated.
The
card has a colour image of a skull & crossbones and ships on the front
and historical information on the back.
