Spacecraft
need the massive power of rockets to launch them into space. Rockets work by
burning huge amounts of fuel and the fast expulsion of exhaust gases push
the spacecraft into space. Rockets are usually divided into 3 stages. The
first stage lifts the vehicle into the atmosphere. Once the fuel in this
rocket has been used it falls to Earth. The second stage reaches a higher
speed and when empty also falls to Earth. The final stage propels the
spacecraft into orbit or further into space. The
pendant is 33mm high and is manufactured in traditional lead-free pewter.
Supplied with wax cord.
The
card has a colour image depicting the Saturn V rocket on the front and
educational information on the back.
