A
replica of the Gokstad Viking ship (Length: 76.5 feet, Beam: 17.5 feet)
crossed the Atlantic in 1893 in 4 weeks, proving the seaworthiness of these
craft. Some had up to 35 pairs of oars. Shields, often painted in bright
colours, were used, but only when fighting or when in harbour. The spoon is
115mm long and is manufactured
from a brass stem and bowl with the top cast in pewter. The spoon is silver plated and the top darkened to highlight
the detail.
The
box has a cardboard base in a grey marble effect with aqua text. The insert is grey with the historical information on an white
label. The lid is clear PVC.
