Product History

Excalibur was the sword of King Arthur (c.AD 500's), a legendry British ruler of medieval times. There are two versions of how Arthur obtained the sword. In one version Arthur received the sword from the mysterious Lady of the Lake and in the other Excalibur was embedded in a block of stone. Only the rightful heir to the throne of England could pull it out. Many men tried but only Arthur succeeded.

By the 13th century the story of Arthur's love for Queen Guinevere, the court at Camelot, the magician Merlin and the quest for the Holy Grail had developed.
