Famous Tudors - Elizabeth I Product History |
|

|
The Tudor era is one of the most interesting periods in English history. This can be attributed in some part to its colourful characters such as King Henry VIII, his daughter Elizabeth I and the playwright William Shakespeare. Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry VIII and was Queen of England from 1558 until her death in 1603. This figure is based on the "Ermine" portrait of Elizabeth I (1585) attributed to Nicholas Hilliard (c 1547-1619) and known as such because of the small ermine on her sleeve. Many paintings of this time were filled with symbolic references, and here the ermine symbolises purity. Also available singly in a polythene bag. |
