Archbishops Ring - Pewter Product History |
The title Archbishop is given to the chief Bishop of a religious province. The province consists of a number of dioceses (districts). An Archbishop usually governs a diocese, called an archdiocese. All the other bishops, in the diocese, regard the archbishop as their superior in religious affairs of the province. The Archbishop of Canterbury is the head of the Church of England. This ring is inscribed from rings depicted on effigies found in cathedrals in England. |
