Product Description: This Degas Dancer pin badge is made from lead-free pewter and is supplied on a pin with separate clasp. Degas is famous for his dance subjects. The pin badge is mounted on an information card which has an image of a painting by Degas called “Dancer on the stage” on the front. There is information about Degas on the reverse.

Information: Edgar Degas (19 July 1834 – 27 September 1917) was a French artist famous for his paintings, sculptures, prints and drawings. He is especially identified with the subject of dance and is regarded as one of the founders of Impressionism. He was a superb draftsman, and particularly masterly in depicting movement.

Degas continued working as late as 1912, when he was forced to leave his studio on the rue Victor Masse, Paris. He died five years later in 1917.
