Information: The longship was the most famous type of Viking boat. It was a long, narrow vessel with a shallow draft, ideal for navigating shallow, rocky coasts and rivers, and had a distinctive curved prow. Longships were designed for speed and were highly manoeuvrable, so they were used for both trade and warfare. They could be rowed or sailed and were often adorned with intricate carvings and designs.
